Rachel Patterson - Witch & Author: It's OK to have a melt down once in a while...

I found this post so down to earth and I'm sure it rings true for a lot of women (and men - let's not be sexist! lol!) going through a bit of a "pity me" moment myself but I'm going to allow myself to wallow in it tonight.

Thank you Rachel.

p.s. I'm glad that your son is better  - worrying time for any parent.

Rachel Patterson - Witch & Author: It's OK to have a melt down once in a while...: It seems to have been a very long few months for the Patterson household sometimes life just loves to chuck heap loads of 'stuff' ...

From Boy to Man...

I love browsing through peoples blogs and finding gems like this ...

Of course, I'm quite a bit older than some of the bloggers, my teenage crushes will be well into their retirement years now (thinking of Dirk Benedict, Stephen Collins, Richard Hatch... mmmmm) but...

.... for me there is always Michael J Fox. Still very much boy next door with plenty of fantasy potential...

... so maybe there's still spunk in the ole gal yet!! Perhaps I should do a bit of googling myself and see what became of those delicious males I drooled over as an adolescent...

Hello my lovelies,

I've just added a new page "Laughter is good for the soul". It's a page all about the comedians that I like, why don't you check it out....

My New Year's Resolutions...

My New Year’s Resolutions…

So, it’s January and lots of people are busy making New Year’s Resolutions. Are you?

How many of these look familiar? I know that the first couple, lose weight and get fit are ALWAYS something that I say to myself each January!

As part of my Winter Solstice/Yule celebration, my friends and I made our own promises as a thank you for all the blessings that we had received this past year. Beforehand we had all agreed that although our promises would be personal to each of us, the effects or consequences of them should benefit others and/or the environment.

I promised to shop conscientiously.

What I mean is that I’m going to pay more attention to the labels and actively seek out the information about where the items I'm buying come from, is it locally produced or has it come halfway across the world,
has it been ethically produced (no sweatshops or slave labour) are the materials used ethically sourced, I will look for fair trade logos, organically produced logos, carbon footprints...
I will be applying this to EVERYTHING that I buy from my weekly groceries to gifts and presents for my family & friends.

By the end of the year, if I can balance keeping my conscience clear and my purse happy I will count this promise a success!

It’s the little things that we can do each and every day that can cause the greatest change.
